Maharashtra State Prisons Department has a glorious past of professionalism and service to the society. We are dedicated to keep its flag flying high. We understand the responsibilities of being a very important wing of the criminal justice system.

Convicts as well as under trials are kept in the various jails all over the state. As correctional administration we are concentrating on our motto of Sudharna and Punarvasan i.e. Reformation and Rehabilitation of prisoners. We encourage education of inmates and impart them skills in industry and agriculture so that they become useful citizens once they complete their sentence. Each staff member of Maharashtra State Prisons Department is devoted to our motto, and we appreciate the society and citizens deposing immense faith in us. We strive to be true to the cause of Reformation and Rehabilitation. We value collaboration with citizens, academic institutes, NGOs and Non-Profit organizations to help us achieve our objectives. Let’s be together in this noble cause of Reformation and Rehabilitation.
